Two years after the end of her professional tennis career, former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki heard “game, set, match: Wozniacki” one last time. The Dane faced off against good friend Angelique Kerber at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, officially bidding farewell to tennis on Tuesday evening.

The former world No. 1—and now Tennis Channel host and commentator—has been officially retired since 2020 at the Australian Open, but she promised to play one last match in front of her home fans in Denmark. With friends and family in attendance—including dad and longtime coach Piotr Wozniacki—she eventually came away with a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Wozniacki spent 71 weeks as world No. 1 and won 30 career singles titles—including a Grand Slam win at the Australian Open.

“Friends become rivals (again),” Kerber wrote in an Instagram post on the eve of the match, with former world No.2 Agnieszka Radwanska jumping in to share the love in the comments: “My girls!!” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.

Before hitting the court, Kerber also posted these envy-inducing photos of her pre-match hitting session with Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. The ‘Fantastic Beasts’ star’s game even got the nod of approval from the three-time Grand Slam winner.

But even in retirement, Wozniacki is still winning—on and off the court. She recently announced a new deal as the global brand ambassador Bang & Olufsen, a Danish high-end electronics company known for their quality speakers and headphones.

“I am very proud to announce our partnership with legendary Danish athlete Caroline Wozniacki,” said CEO Kristian Teär. “We share the same passion for perfection and performance—and as a Dane and lifelong Bang & Olufsen customer it makes sense that Caroline will be the face of the brand as she looks to the next steps in her personal and professional career.”

Bang & Olufsen will also be working with Wozniacki and husband David Lee later this year to create a custom sound system in their new family home in Miami.
