While the rest of the tennis world descends on Madrid, Garbine Muguruza has been making the most of her extended break from the sport. The 29-year-old recently shared a series of colorful snaps on Instagram, as she traded her tennis racquet for a Spanish hand fan at the historic Seville Fair.

“Seville is unique!” Muguruza wrote in the caption. The Spaniard dressed the part during her visit to one of the country's biggest cultural events, donning a traditional red flamenco dress and white shawl and sporting a red carnation in her hair.

The former world No. 1 shared photos alongside boyfriend Arthur Borges, as well as a mini-constellation of Spanish celebrities:

After skipping Indian Wells and Miami, Muguruza announced that her break from tennis will extend into the clay and grass season. The move has seen her miss her home WTA 1000 this week at the Mutua Madrid Open, and she will also be absent from the next two Grand Slams, the French Open and Wimbledon.

"Spending time with family and friends and it's really been healthy and amazing, so I am going to lengthen this period till summer. Therefore I am going to miss [the] clay and grass season," she shared in an Instagram story.

The two-time Grand Slam champion also parted ways with coach Conchita Martinez shortly after the announcement.

Muguruza went 0-4 during the start of the season, falling at the first hurdle in Adelaide 1, Adelaide 2, Australian Open and Lyon. She is currently ranked world No. 126.
