GOING CLASSIC: The One-handed Backhand

Use both of your arms to mold a powerful one-handed backhand.

Prepare like you would hit a two-handed backhand: Line up your left (outside) leg and get behind the ball. Simultaneously turn your shoulder, and separate your arms as you hit the ball. This will give you power from opposing forces since your racquet hand is hitting the ball while your opposing hand is swinging back. It’s important to use your legs and get the proper knee bend to help add power to the one-hander.
