Ashleigh Barty has placed another major event on her schedule following a historic run at the Australian Open—her wedding.

The 25-year-old Australian says she and longtime boyfriend Garry Kissick are likely tying the knot in 2022, though no date has been chosen yet.

"It will be very low-key, very small, pretty chill, for Garry and I—just the people we love the most, people who have been impactful and important in our lives," Barty told the Brisbane Courier-Mail. But she's still got a lot of organizing to do for the ceremony. "My nieces and nephews will be front and center...they will be dress shopping before I will be," Barty said.

It was her first interview since winning the Australian Open—her third Grand Slam victory, but the first in front of the home crowds and her family. "To be able to have both of my sisters, mum, and dad, I think that is probably the first time they have seen a final of that magnitude anywhere in the world," she said.

Barty is next scheduled to play Indian Wells. But she plans on limiting the tournaments she plays in order "to come home more regularly and not be away for too long at one time," unlike 2021 when she spent most of the season on the road because of Australia's quarantine requirements.

Barty is No. 1 in the rankings.
