Halep stars in new Adidas ad for travel hoodie

The off-season is well upon us, especially for WTA players, but the pros will find ways to keep their names out there.

To that end, Simona Halep appears with NBA player James Harden and Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale in a new, minute-long slick, black-and-white ad for the Adidas Athletics ZNE Travel Hoodie.

With Harden of the Houston Rockets as Halep's co-star, this had real promise. That guy is an unbridled bastion of sass, both verbal and non.

Unfortunately, this Adidas clip comes off as all style, little substance. Halep & Co. can walk, stare and ride all kinds of transportation with the best of them, but it's odd to see such stationary visuals built around an item made for on-the-move types. The NBA's Harden definitely won't be called for traveling in this one. For Halep, it's ad-out.
