Head partners with Palm Tree Crew for a one-of-a-kind gear collection

Collabs are all the rage in tennis. Earlier this year, Wilson joined forces with Kith to release an expansive heritage apparel and equipment collection, while Solinco rolled out a special-edition racquet and string designed by Brain Dead.

The latest entry is the Palm Tree Crew x Head team-up. For the uninitiated, Palm Tree Crew is a live entertainment, lifestyle and hospitality brand co-founded by DJ Kygo and Myles Shear. Its merchandise includes apparel in various categories, collaborating frequently with outside labels spanning fashion and sports, such as Puma and the Miami Marlins MLB team.

The Head collection centers around a Radical MP Palm Tree Crew and accompanying backpack, duffel and tote bags. The racquet maintains the same specs and playability as the current Radical MP, only with the special cosmetic. The designs and colors are inspired by PTC’s signature vibrant tropical aesthetic. Combined with Head’s technical expertise, it’s a marriage of high-performance with lifestyle culture.

Taylor Fritz, Head’s top American male player, will be the center of the campaign. Being a longtime Radical user and fan of Palm Tree Crew, Fritz was a natural fit. After giving a sneak peek of the collaboration at a Palm Tree Crew music event in the Hamptons, N.Y. in June, Fritz debuted it on court last month at the Mubadala Citi DC tournament.

“I’ve long been friends with Kygo and Myles, so when I had this idea a few years ago, it was a no-brainer to work with two of my favorite brands on this collection,” said Fritz in a Head press release. “Head and Palm Tree Crew are both brands that embody the different parts of my life, so this collaboration felt super natural. I’m pumped it’s finally out in the world and can’t wait to see what people think of it.”
