Word has spread that the latest tennis movie, titled Borg/McEnroewill feature Hollywood’s most finicky A-lister, Shia LaBeouf, as a young, hot-headed John McEnroe. To pun, it’s a match made in heaven.

In recent years, LaBeouf has become notorious for losing the plot. He showed up on a red carpet with a bag over his head, sat through all 29 of his own movies in a row in New York City and stood in an elevator for 24 hours at Oxford. The former Even Stevens star has become more well known for his antics, and causing trouble on set, than for his acting.

McEnroe, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, is arguably most famous for being the most temperamental tennis player in history. While LaBeouf has that part down, he's also had to channel his wild energy into sports, learning tennis for the first time for a film that will center on the classic 1980 Wimbledon final.

Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason will play "Ice Man" Bjorn Borg, which is also beyond appropriate as Gudnason was raised in Iceland. Stellan Skarsgard, most famous for his roles in A Serious Game and The Avengerswill play Borg’s coach.

This Hollywood development is coming hot on the heels of Serena Williams' new documentary. The full-length film titled Serena: The Other Side of Greatness will premier on June 22 on the Epix channel:

And let’s not forget that there are not one, not two, but *three* Billie Jean King films in the works. The one titled Match Maker has cast Will Ferrell as Bobby Riggs; another one, slated for 2017 and titled Battle of the Sexes, has top-billed actors Emma Stone (as King) and Steve Carrell (as Riggs) in the cast, with filming underway. The first official movie photo came out last month, and Stone has been spotted doing her best to fill the large shoes of King in 1973:

Professional tennis tournaments have left California over the past few years, but Hollywood is clearly still inspired by the game. It can't get enough.
