Hot Shot: Bryans bamboozle Russians in Indian Wells

It's hip to be a Bryan.

As Karen Khachanov and Danii Medvedev found out in their Indian Wells first-rounder against the doubles legends, steering a shot through the Great Wall of Bryan at net can be a fatiguing, even daunting task. Consider the 36-stroke exchange ultimately won by Bob and Mike Bryan.

That captivating rally set up a point for the first set for the No. 4–seeded, 40-year-old twins. They went on to seize the match by a straightforward 6-3, 6-2 score over 22-year-old Khachanov and 23-year-old Medvedev.

Call it the latest case of tandem prowess trumping singles stardom in a doubles draw, as the younger pair are currently carving up the ATP Tour at Nos. 13 and 15, respectively, in the rankings.
