TC LIVE: Laver Cup to SF in 2025

It's no secret that the professional tennis tour is full of basketball lovers: from Coco Gauff and Nick Kyrgios, to Alexander Zverev and Frances Tiafoe, and that Dallas Mavericks legend and retired NBA champion Dirk Nowitzki may have been an ATP player had his youth taken a different turn.

But how well do the best hoopers in the world know tennis? The current stars of the Golden State Warriors put their tennis knowledge to the test this week in celebration of the fact that the Laver Cup will be coming to their home arena, the Chase Center in San Francisco, this September.

From aces and drop shots to 'What does deuce mean?', players including three-time NBA champion Kevon Looney, who has spent his entire pro career with the Warriors, Buddy Hield, and 2024 All-Rookie pick Brandin Podziemski answered questions not about the hardwood, but hard courts (with humorously-varying degrees of success).

See how well they scored (pun intended) in the clip below.

The eighth edition of Laver Cup, set to be held in the U.S. for the third time, will bring a star-studded player roster to the Bay Area. Already committed are Carlos Alcaraz, who helped bring the Laver Cup back to Team Europe with his MVP-caliber performance in his event debut, as well as Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton and Alexander Zverev, as well as first-time picks Joao Fonseca and Holger Rune. The 2025 edition will also be historic in that the two squads boast new captains in Andre Agassi and Yannick Noah this year, with the American and Frenchman set to debut in San Francisco come September.

Tennis Channel will broadcast the event live for tennis fans tuning in across the U.S. beginning on Sept. 19.
