Iga Swiatek makes it 3-0 for Kendrick Lamar as tennis players weigh in on Drake feud in Rome

ROME, Italy—In a best-of-three blowout, Kendrick Lamar sweeps the tennis world, 3-0, with Iga Swiatek the latest star to throw her support behind the rapper in his feud with Drake.

“That’s a tough one because I’m not an expert in this kind of music,” said Swiatek, who typically opines about the state of Taylor Swift’s discography.

“I kind of know that Kendrick has more complicated lyrics, so I’m more of a lyric kind of girl. That’s why I like Taylor Swift, and that’s why I’m going to go this way.”

Swiatek joins fellow players Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff, who were each emphatic in declaring themselves Team Kendrick in the rap beef that swept the globe over last weekend.

“Kendrick dropped some heat that last song,” Osaka said on Wednesday. “That last song is amazing, and I played it walking onto the court. Currently I think Kendrick's doing a good job.”

Gauff echoed Osaka the next day, citing Kendrick’s support of Serena Williams in his lyrics.

“Drake, like, dissed Serena so I have to go with Kendrick,” she added. “Kendrick defended her. So, yeah, I have to go with him.”

If there are any Drake stans at the Foro Italico, they’ve yet to make themselves known.
