Indian Wells Fashion Roundup: Nine looks we can't stop talking about

This year’s BNP Paribas Open has been a tournament full of surprises (including the weather), early exits and breakthroughs. But beyond the world-class tennis action, fans also love Indian Wells for being a great tennis style showcase.

Tennis sportswear companies typically roll out their Spring collections during the year’s first combined 1000-level event, marking the biggest apparel release since the Australian Open. And fans are taking notice, with several looks generating plenty of discussion on social media.

From custom colorways to head-to-toe coordination, here are nine of the styles that got people talking during Indian Wells:

Donna Vekic — Donna Sport

Vekic hit the court wearing an outfit by Donna Sport, the Italian women’s luxury sportswear brand she helped launch with Uomo Sport in 2023. The 28-year-old sported an olive green long-sleeve top with a half-zipper and a classic pleated white tennis skirt, completing the look with a white visor and a glittering jewelry stack that includes a F.P. Journe Élégante watch.

Tallon Griekspoor — The Indian Maharadja

A similarly dark-green-and-white colorway can be seen on Griekspoor, who wore The Indian Maharadja. Originally founded in Amsterdam in 2009 as a lifestyle field hockey brand, The Indian Maharadja also outfits top Dutch players including Griekspoor and Botic van de Zandschulp.

Griekspoor recorded the best result of his career in reaching his first ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal, knocking out No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev and No. 29 Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard before falling to No. 12 Holger Rune.

Grigor Dimitrov — Lacoste, Adidas

Dimitrov made waves at the start of the season when he announced a multi-year footwear deal with Adidas, and the new partnership already looks to be paying off.

The Bulgarian hit the courts in Indian Wells wearing a pair of black and white Adizero Ubersonic 5 shoes with his Lacoste kit. With pops of pink and green on the sleeves and shoulders contrasting against crisp white, the colorful shirt was fit for Tennis Paradise. Dimitrov completed the look with black shorts, black arm sleeves and his signature backwards hat—and of course, his match-approved Bianchet B1.618 Grande Date Flying Tourbillon watch.

Andrey Rublev — K-Swiss

This kit featured plenty of pink as well, with Rublev rocking a co-branded K-Swiss x Rublo shirt and shorts in Neon Blaze pink and Stargazer blue. The apparel features subtle white dots throughout and was designed in collaboration with Rublev, and developed with a focus on sustainability using recycled quick drying materials.

The Russian signed a multi-year partnership with K-Swiss last August, with the deal set to include a Rublo capsule collection and a limited-edition performance sneaker.

Naomi Osaka — Nike

Naomi Osaka emphasized “sunshine” in Sunshine Swing with her neon yellow kit at Indian Wells. The dress is an updated version of her ruffled Australian Open kit, which Osaka pairs with Nike Zoom GP Challenge 1 shoes.

The yellow, black and white shoes feature a koi fish design—a Japanese symbol of courage and strength—as well as the quote, “Return unto others twice as hard as they serve unto you."

Carlos Alcaraz — Nike

Alcaraz’s look turned heads in Indian Wells, and not just because he was rocking pieces from NikeCourt’s Spring Advantage collection in stylish red and coral.

When the two-time defending champion first took the court at the BNP Paribas Open, eagle-eyed fans spotted what seemed to be a new tattoo on his right arm that read “23.04.25” ("April 23, 2025"). Turns out, it was all part of the promo for his upcoming Netflix docuseries, Carlos Alcaraz: My Way.

Though the ink has since washed away, Alcaraz’s performances in the desert have remained strong, as he’s powered his way into the semifinals without dropping a set.

Marta Kostyuk — Wilson

Kostyuk took the court in Indian Wells in a dreamy ombre dress by Wilson, which starts as a purple-blue, and fades into contrasting pink. The Headliner Tennis Dress by Wilson features a super-thin racerback, which allows her shoulders to move freely, and a flouncy iridescent skirt.

The Ukrainian completes the look with a matching pink scrunchie hair tie, as well as the new Wilson Intrigue shoe. The brand’s first women’s-only high performance tennis shoe, it was developed using feedback from Kostyuk herself.

Frances Tiafoe — Lululemon

As the newest Lululemon global ambassador, Tiafoe’s kits are getting a lot of love from tennis fashion watchers. The 27-year-old wore a light blue shirt and matching tennis shorts, which he paired with his signature headband and custom arm sleeves, both in mauve.

Tiafoe’s run to the desert came to an end in the third round, having played two straight-sets matches that went down to the wire; three of his four sets were decided in tiebreaks.

Coco Gauff — New Balance

There's something so satisfying about a head-to-toe fit where all the details are considered, like Gauff’s cool and coordinated Indian Wells kit.

Mint green pops against dark blue in Gauff’s tank top and pleated tennis skirt, perfectly matching her Head racquet—even her ankle straps featured a pop of matching color, as well as her manicure. Completing the look is her new Coco CG2 shoes, the second edition of her signature shoe with New Balance.

The 21-year-old recently unveiled a more casual version of the shoe called the Coco Delray. The new shoes will feature the same colorways as the CG2, but in a model that can easily transition from on-court action to off-court style.
