The Carota Boys made it Down Under in time for their 2024 Australian Open debut.

Jannik Sinner’s omnipresent fan club have been at all of the biggest stops on the tennis tour since debuting at his home tournament in Rome, and after appearing at three major tournaments in 2023, only Melbourne Park was missing from their resume.

The boys stamped their passports and landed in Australia to cheer Sinner on through his first match of the season, a straight-set victory over Botic van de Zandschulp.

“They are getting more famous than I am slowly,” the 22-year-old joked in his post-match press conference.

“I was not expecting them to come here, but it's nice to see them in the stands. Obviously we have made some great memories together with all the support they give me.”

After feeling their support from afar six months, Sinner finally met the Carota Boys in Turin, where the hometown hero surged into the biggest final of his career at the Nitto ATP Finals.

“It's nice to have them,” said Sinner, who is at a career-high ranking to start the season.

“Obviously I also have to watch out for myself, because, you know, I want to win as many matches as possible, but maybe this support gives me in the key moments maybe this extra belief maybe. Who knows? Let's see how it goes here. But I'm happy that they are here.”

With two days before Sinner’s second round, keep your eyes and carrots peeled for Carota Boy sightings around Melbourne.
