Jannik Sinner has joined an exclusive club in the aftermath of his Australian Open victory. The Italian is now among the most-followed active ATP players on Instagram.

Sinner now boasts 2.2 million followers on the platform, putting him in a Top 5 that also includes Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Nick Kyrgios.

At the start of the Australian Open, Sinner had 1.4 Instagram followers, but after becoming the first Italian man in 48 years to win a Grand Slam singles title in Melbourne, his numbers soared to just shy of 2 million. That number has only conitnued to grow this week, as Sinner received congratulations from dignitaries including Pope Francis and brought the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup home to tour the Colosseum.

The people are loving what they're seeing. Sinner's post celebrating his Melbourne victory, for example, was liked more than 1.5 million times.

But Sinner's popularity doesn't only extend to social media. The 22-year-old already had long-term deals with Nike (he signed a 10-year, $158 million contract with the brand in 2022, and has his own logo), and luxury brands like Rolex, Gucci and Alfa Romeo even before becoming a Grand Slam champion.

While some who shirk away from the pressure that comes with such a spotlight, it seems as though Sinner has no such intentions. In his post-championship press conference, Sinner found himself repeating Billie Jean King's famous mantra when asked how he's lived up to expectations: "Pressure is a privilege."

"[T]he support I get throughout now already years, it's incredible," Sinner continued. "Being able to make them happy today, because I feel like that they push me also, that I can believe in myself and then having so much support, it's amazing."
