The bond between a dog and its owner is like no other. Just ask Jessica Pegula.

On Friday, the American penned a heartfelt goodbye note on social media to "the most loyal man," Dexter, after revealing that the pup passed away suddenly a few days prior.

"A few days ago we had to say goodbye to our boy Dexter very suddenly," Pegula wrote on Twitter. "His favorite thing in the whole world was tennis. Chasing tennis balls and chasing serves. I love you so much.

"Everyone give your doggies extra treats tonight. We truly don’t deserve them."

On Instagram, Pegula expanded further, showing fans more candid snaps of her and Dexter in a carousel montage.

"The most loyal man with the best heart," she added. "When you left you took a piece of me with you and I won’t ever feel whole again. Sending love to all the ones that have lost their doggies, the bond you have with them is unmatched."

Pegula's peers including Coco Gauff, Anna Kalinskaya, Asia Muhammad, Shelby Rogers and Caroline Wozniacki were among the multitudes who sent the Top 10 player virtual hug.

"Thinking of you," Wozniacki wrote. "Dogs are family!"
