Sofia Kenin has had a rough week but nothing was going to stop her from watching Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka in the Australian Open semifinals. With the lockdown lifted, fans got to return to Melbourne Park and they were treated with a busy day of tennis.

Osaka started slow against Serena, but would end up in full control of a 6-3, 6-4 win over her idol. She awaits the winner of Jennifer Brady and Karolina Muchova in the final, which will mark her fourth major final appearance.

Kenin was spotted in the stands with her dad and was as giddy as a fan might be when catching themselves on camera.

The 2020 Australian Open champion lost in the second round to Kaia Kanepi and then fell in the first round of the WTA 250 Phillip Island Trophy.

Dealing with stomach pain, she ended up diagnosed with appendicitis and underwent surgery on Monday.

Despite all that, the 22-year-old was healthy enough just three days later to go enjoy the blockbuster semifinal.

Osaka made it hard for Serena to challenge her with 20 winners to Serena's 12, and serves regularly over 120 mph. It was an impressive performance from the 23-year-old as she continues her campaign for a second Australian Open trophy.

The loss hurt for Serena: In press, she left midday through in tears after answering a question about unforced errors with, "I don't know. I'm done."
