Keys starts Kindness in Crisis auction for those in need

In 2016, Madison Keys started working with a nonprofit called Fearlessly Girl. The nonprofit aimed to create a kinder world, focusing on supporting women and girls of all ages. She relaunched Fearlessly Girl USA into Kindness wins to go one step farther in spreading the message of kindness beyond barriers or limitations.

The 2017 US Open finalist recently joined Tennis Channel Live to talk about what *Kindness Wins* is doing in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.

Kindness Wins has now turned into Kindness in Crisis, and has has teamed up with athletes who want to help others during this challenging time.

Along with champion skiier Mikaela Shiffrin, Keys is auctioning off gear, with all of the proceeds being donated to No Kid Hungry.

The world No. 13 may not be on the court, but she's busier than ever, trying to help those in need while also being an active WTA council member.

"It's definitely been weird for me, I don't think I've had this much time off from tennis since I was like 7 years old," the 25-year-old said. "It's been something that I'm learning to deal with, but obviously very fortunate to be healthy."

Keys has been enjoying the warm Florida weather and has been doing most of her training outside, even opting to hit volleys on the side of her house.

"I think I'm a little bit torn because obviously we want to go out and we want to have fans in the stadium and not having that atmosphere would be really difficult," she said, about the option of competing without crowds. "But at the same time, if people want to just be able to watch us on TV and have that part of sports back, then I'd be happy to get out there and play."

The American is making the most of this unexpected down time, which has been extended to July 13, and is diving into newish projects.

"My house has never been cleaner or more organized," she said. "I've never done this much laundry in my life. So, I feel like everything is really in order right now."
