In Nick Kyrgios' latest Instagram post, the Aussie opened up about his personal struggles with discrimination, dealing with criticism and being told he was a "disappointment" by those closest to him.

The 25-year-old is never afraid to use his voice, but that has come with a high price of being judged and not "understood." Eager to let his fans know that he's done things and been to places he's not proud of, he shared a lengthy message with fans who are struggling to find purpose and motivation.

"This is for anyone who struggles with motivation, struggles with what their purpose is, for those who have days when you don’t want to get out of bed, ITS OK," Kyrgios wrote. "I’ve been to places that I’m not proud of, people telling me all the time, ‘waste of talent’ ‘disappointment’. Dealt with disgusting racism, got told by people close to me they have lost hope. I know what it feels like when you think no one is understanding the struggles that are in your head."

Kyrgios, who has claimed six career titles, said he was overweight as a kid and was told that he wasn't going to be very good player. Now, as an established tour-level player and a competitor with massive potential, he feels like he's proving a lot of people wrong.

"I’m telling you right now, everything will be ok, enjoy this beautiful life in front of you, do what makes YOU happy. Don’t take this opportunity for granted," Kyrgios said.

The world No. 50 also told his over 1. 6 million Instagram followers to reach out to him if they are feeling lost.

After a year without playing an event due to the on-going pandemic, he returned to the tour at last month's Australian Open. He fell in the third round to 2020 US Open winner Dominic Thiem in five sets, having held a 2-0 set lead against the No. 3 seed.
