Directly after, Fernandez picked up her biggest win with a 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-4 win against world No. 3 and last year's US Open champion Naomi Osaka.

Following their epic victories, the Canadian and Spaniard took to the practice court ahead of their Round of 16 matches on Sunday and had the opportunity to meet each other. They also indulged in a pretty cute photo opportunity, both holding up the iconic "I love NY" shirt.

Following her first win over a Top 5 opponent, Fernandez was on cloud nine during her presser.

"Maybe I'm still up there in the clouds, but I'm happy," she said.

After both of their great campaigns at the New York major, surely both really do love the city. Fernandez will face off with another major champion in Angelique Kerber and Alcaraz will take on qualifier Peter Gojowczyk for a spot in the last eight.
