What comes to mind when thinking about Wimbledon?

Strawberries and cream, pristine lawns, clean white outfits, and likely, Roger Federer.

The Maestro has won the grass-court major eight times, and his natural sophistication and class have also helped instate him as the unofficial face of the historic event. There is arguably no player in the game who does Wimbledon whites like Federer, and he has yet to disappoint when it comes to best looks.

Federer took to Centre Court on Tuesday looking true to form in a polished Uniqlo kit, his sponsor since 2018. He donned his classic headband and one wristband, all tied together by the matching red logo. Instead of a solid white, the shirt featured a faint grid pattern, and of course, his initials on the sleeve. The pure white pieces combine both functionality and design that enhance his effortless style of play on the grass.

The world No. 8 managed to grab the opening set against Adrian Mannarino, but fell into a slump, which led him to drop the next two sets. However, he was beginning to pick up momentum and claimed the fourth set 6-2 when Adrian Mannarino took a brutal fall, forcing him to retire. It wasn't the way he wanted to win, but admitted: "this is a part of the game" in his on-court interview.

Federer is set to face Richard Gasquet in Thursday's second-round. The Swiss star hasn't come up short against the Frenchman since 2011 at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome, he also holds a dominating 18-2 record over the world No. 56.
