Maria Sharapova's dream house is staying in the sports family. According to several media reports this week, Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic has purchased the former world No. 1's custom L.A. area mansion for a cool eight-figure sum of $25 million.

The modern three-story house, which was custom-built by Sharapova after she purchased the land on which the house sits in 2012, features five bedrooms, a two-lane bowling alley in the basement, and a grand indoor-outdoor space that centers on an infinity pool.

But reportedly citing a desire to spend more time in Europe with British fiancé Alexander Gilkes and young son Theodore, Florida-based Sharapova had previously put the house on the market in July.

Doncic, 26, signed for the property in late August, perhaps eager to put down roots on the West Coast after inking a three-year extension with the Lakers for a sum of $165 million just weeks prior.

He'll move into a space that was uniquely Sharapova's. The newly-minted International Tennis Hall of Famer was hands-on with the home's design, which was done in conjunction with architecture firm KAA Design. In 2019, she told *Architectural Digest* that she was "obsessed with the process of making [the] home" and was inspired by Japanese architecture and minimalist aesthetics.

“I’d jump off a plane from a tournament and go straight to the worksite or to the architect’s office or to a kitchen manufacturer," she said. "This was my project, and I wasn’t going to delegate any part of it.”

“I’ve traveled all over the world and enjoyed lots of incredible spaces," she added. "But my home is my absolute favorite. I think that’s the way it should be.”
