With three Grand Slams in women’s and mixed doubles over the years at the Australian Open, Bethanie Mattek-Sands knows what it takes to put in a strong performance at the year’s first major.

This year, though, is unlike any other, and Mattek-Sands is one of the 72 players in hard lockdown right now. She's staying mentally sharp by co-hosting the *AO Countdown* show with Todd Woodbridge. Getting the body match-tough for a Grand Slam from the confines of a hotel room is a difficult task, and just pedaling away on the tournament-provided stationary bike can only take you so far.

That being said, the nine-time major winner seems to be making out OK enough with her husband, Justin Sands.

The pair has been posting videos of their #KillerCoupleWorkouts together on Instagram while biding their time before Mattek-Sands can get on the court. Sands, a former college football player, has been training with his wife for years now.

And when she needs to work on the core muscles, he’s there to be the perfect piece of equipment.

Chris Evert and Tracy Austin were both wowed by these feats of strength, as evidenced by the comments. Mattek-Sands’ former doubles partner, Lucie Safarova, said the couple will be “superheroes after quarantine.”

If you thought that was something, check this one out, where Mattek-Sands turns the tables.

Impressive, but Evert wants Mattek-Sands to think of the bigger picture.

“OK…he’s going to break your back, Beth,” she commented. “This is a Grand slam, be careful.”

The husband and wife should be just fine. If anything, they’ll be stronger for their time spent together in confinement.
