Nick Monroe and Frances Tiafoe continued their run at the Australian Open with a 2-6, 7-6 (9), 6-2 win over Canadians Denis Shapovalov and Vasek Pospisil. The American duo had started their campaign with an upset of No. 3 seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.

Monroe and Tiafoe were down 6-2, 4-1 to the Canadians and saved three match points to keep their campaign alive.

Monroe has been working overtime in Melbourne as a commentator and Tennis Channel reporter, having interviewed Tiafoe, Venus Williams, Diego Schwartzman, Alex de Minaur, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, and most recently, Casper Ruud.

Ruud is enjoying his best career Grand Slam performance ever this fortnight and he'll take on Andrey Rublev in the fourth round. Monroe and Tiafoe will face Philipp Oswald and Marcus Daniell next.

Since teaming up with Tennis Channel, Monroe has had his best career run at Roland Garros (quarterfinals) and now the Australian Open.
