Andy Murray, known for angry outbursts on court, had a different reaction than usual. After defeating Marius Copil, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6, in the round of 16 of the Citi Open, the Scot broke down in tears on his bench.

The match took over three hours and wrapped up after 3 a.m. on Friday.

Currently ranked No. 832 in the world, Murray hadn't won consecutive matches at any tournament since Wimbledon last year. This is also the first time he has moved past the first round in any ATP 500 tournament since Barcelona last year.

Murray was scheduled to face Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinals but withdrew early on Friday evening.

The 31-year-old also pulled out of next week's ATP Masters event in Toronto. He will still jump almost 500 places to No. 375.
