The 2022 US Open was a fantastic tournament for the My Tennis Life team, and J.J. Wolf had a strong one behind him as he prepared for an exciting third-round clash with Nick Kyrgios.

Playing only his second career Grand Slam main draw, Wolf began the week with a big win over No. 16 seed Roberto Bautista Agut and backed up that upset with a four-setter against Alejandro Tabilo to put himself a win away from the second week.

In between, the wild card welcomed some of his closest friends to Flushing Meadows so they could be on hand to watch his Louis Armstrong Stadium encounter with Kyrgios, who was fresh off a run to the Wimbledon final.

After getting in a practice on Arthur Ashe Stadium, Wolf took the court to cheers from the pro-American crowd as they supported the 23-year-old through three close sets with the equally entertaining Aussie.

The run helped Wolf earn a new career-high ranking of No. 72.
