Mylan WTT names Harrison, Gibbs as season MVPs

The final is August 26 in New York City.

Next week, the San Diego Aviators will take on the Orange County Breakers in the 41st final of Mylan World TeamTennis. Fittingly, the Aviator's Ryan Harrison and the Breakers' Nicole Gibbs were named recipients of the MVP awards, each earning a $7,500 bonus and Forevermark diamond.

Gibbs finished second in season singles rankings with an 0.602 winning percentage, and first in doubles with Alla Kudryavtseva.

Harrison finished on top of both singles and doubles rankings, despite being a late addition to the Breakers.

The final will take place at 4 p.m. on August 26 at the West Side Tennis Club in New York City. It will mark the first time in six years that the Washington Kastles are not the championship team.
