Two years ago, Roger Federer journeyed his way to Rottnest Island just outside of Perth, and history was made. He interacted with a special marsupial species only native to the island, the quokka.

His selfie with the friendly animal actually boosted tourism to Rottnest thanks to the huge reach of his Instagram account, and the viral reaction to it.

This week, his rival and pal Rafael Nadal got to enjoy the same unique experience. He, too, snapped a quokka selfie.

Who did it better? That might have to go to Federer since his quokka was facing the camera with a grin.

Federer was in the area for the 2018 Hopman Cup, which he won alongside Belinda Bencic. Nadal will be hoping his quokka selfie is just as fortuitous as he leads Spain in the inaugural ATP Cup.
