Rafael Nadal is famous for his champion's mentality. He never gives up, he always gives it his best, and he is dedicated to training the hardest out of anyone, not matter if he comes out on top or faces defeat.

It seems his workhorse trait and humble demeanor started at a very young age. The Davis Cup released footage of a young Nadal after he won the prestigious junior event Les Petits As in 2000.

"I will continue training," Nadal said. "I think this is an important tournament, but winning this tournament doesn’t mean I will be a good player. So I have to continue the trainings, and we'll see."

It sounds almost exactly like a preset-day interview with the 20-time Grand Slam champion. He was right though, winning the junior tournament isn't a guarantee for pro success. But past champions do include Frances Tiafoe, Bianca Andreescu, Kim Clijsters, Dinara Safina, Richard Gasquet, Michael Chang, Jelena Ostapenko and Martina Hingis.
