Naomi Osaka unveils Fortnite skins ahead of game debut

The former world No. 1 will stream alongside Twitch star Berleezy on Tuesday, culminating with a Naomi Osaka Cup for players on Wednesday.

Naomi Osaka has long sought to be the best “like no one ever was,” and that love of sports and gaming made another collision this week with the debut of two signature Fortnite skins.

The four-time Grand Slam champion showed off the skins on a video posted to her official Instagram account: one combines her latest Nike tennis colors with a Sailor Moon-magical girl twist, while another takes a so-called “dark priestess” approach.

A battle royale game released in June 2018, Fortnite has attracted its share of celebrities from Drake to Joe Jonas. Osaka is a longtime Overwatch fan who made her Twitch streaming debut last fall.

"I have been watching gamers since I was like 10 years old,” the 24-year-old said at the time.

Osaka will debut the Fortnite skins alongside popular Twitch streamer Berleezy on Tuesday, culminating with a Naomi Osaka Cup for Fortnite players on Wednesday.
