The comeback is 🔛!

Paula Badosa shared a high-octane Instagram story on Tuesday showing the former world No. 2 hard at work in the gym as preparations for a 2024 return to action appear underway.

Badosa endured an injury-addled season culminating with a back injury leading to her August decision to shut down her season ahead of the 2023 US Open, having already missed both the Australian Open and Roland Garros.

“After struggling for many months to compete again, I am ending my season. Those of you who know me know how much I like to compete and how difficult it has been to make this decision,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

The 2021 BNP Paribas Open champion spent the summer and fall in the stands supporting boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas, and even appeared on court this weekend after the other half of "Tsitsidosa" and brother Petros won the men’s doubles title in Antwerp.

Questions remained how soon Badosa would appear on court in a more official capacity, but Badosa seems to have shut those down for now, sharing a promotional image in addition to the workout footage in the last 24 hours.

A longtime mental health advocate, Badosa spoke out about missing the game back in September, assuring fans that she would be return as soon as her body allowed.

“I’ve never missed something more than this sport,” she wrote. “Since I’m a little girl I’ve never experienced so many months away from it.

“All this time off I realize that setbacks are part life and it’s a way to learn and grow. It’s really tough being away for so long but hopefully sooner than later I’m that little girl playing and enjoying it again.”
