Photo app claims Billie Joe Armstrong looks like Serena

What do Serena Williams and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong have in common?

Well, for one thing, they look like one another—at least according to the Gradient app, whose "You Look Like" feature shows an eerie sequence of Armstrong's face transforming into Serena's.

Armstrong posted the result on Tuesday to his Instagram story, to which Williams replied, "A dream come true. Maybe I can play like you one day."

The fandom clearly isn't performative, either. Going back to 2009, Serena's tweeted about Green Day an astonishing number%20(from%3ASerenawilliams)&src=typed_query&f=live) of times: nearly 150, the latest coming this September.

And the respect, it turns out, is mutual, with Armstrong being a fan of hers too.

The photo app, though, seems to not be entirely scientific; it also matches Armstrong with Justin Bieber.

Such are the perils of ephemeral tech trends.
