The day is finally here.

On Monday, Rafael Nadal will play his first Roland Garros match since lifting his record-extending 14th Coupe des Mousquetaires on Court Philippe Chatrier. The left-hander takes on fourth seed Alexander Zverev, who arrives with the Rome trophy in hand.

The 37-year-old boasts a 112-3 career record at the Paris major. He and Zverev have not played since their 2022 semifinal here, when the German suffered an ankle injury that abruptly forced him to retire late in the second set.

Making his final preparations, Nadal practiced for a half hour on Court 3 just before midday in Paris. Our gallery:
