Player of the Day: Sebastian Korda

The 20-year-old took out 15th seeded Alex de Minaur in his first Wimbledon appearance.

First Wimbledon for Sebastian Korda? No problem. The American, whose 22-year-old sister Nelly just won the KPMG Women's PGA Championship last weekend, is through to the second round with a convincing win over No. 15 seed Alex de Minaur.

Korda was on the brink of securing a straight set victory, but ultimately finished the job with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (5) score. The list of accomplishments keeps piling up for the Korda family, who can make a seriously waterproof case for being the world’s most athletic family. The American recently claimed his first ATP title in Parma. Korda who is the son of former No. 2, Petr Korda makes the Kordas' the third father-son duo to win tour-level singles titles in the Open Era.

The world No. 50 will play a very winnable match against Frenchman Antoine Hoang on Thursday. If his heavily taped left-knee holds up, the 20-year-old could do some serious damage on the lawns.
