1/18 Iga Swiatek talks AC/DC

Iga Swiatek seems like a gentle soul, but don't let that calm demeanor fool you. The 20-year-old is rocking out to AC/DC quite often. Following her 6-3, 6-0 opening-round win against Harriet Dart she spoke about her love for the band that was formed in Australia back in 1973.

She quickly lit up when asked if she was a fan of the highly influential 70s rock band:

"Yeah, I am. I'm actually hoping that the shows are going to be back soon because of COVID I couldn't go to any concerts. Actually I was here on Florence + The Machine in 2019. So Melbourne is the kind of place I like to find some cool stuff to do," she said during her on-court interview.

If you're currently wondering who "Florence + The Machine" is, they are quite the indie rock band from London. Starting to see a trend here? Swiatek seems to prefer energy that packs a punch, much like her inside-out forehand. The Pole also shared her favorite AC/DC tune which happens to be the iconic "Thunderstruck." The classic-rock song has nearly 900 million plays on Spotify.

Other than jamming out to an array of rock music, the Grand Slam champion recently watched the new "Spider-Man: No Way Home" film starring Tom Holland and Zendaya and was "shocked at the end." The world No. 9 also tuned into "Ted Lasso," but admitted she wasn't too crazy about it.

Next up for Swiatek is Rebecca Peterson who defeated Australia's Daria Saville in her Melbourne opener.
