Rafael Nadal has been playing on grass during Wimbledon, but it's on the golf course.

Taking a break from tour, the 35-year-old swapped the courts for the course and was competing in the Balearics Golf Championships in his home island of Mallorca. A keen golfer, he wrapped up the first day at two over par, just two spots behind the leader.

Having fallen to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the French Open, Nadal withdrew from both the grass-court season and the Olympics, saying he had to "listen" to his body following a grueling clay-court season. With the goal being to prolong his career, the Spaniard is taking all precautions and didn't want to overexert himself.

But he hasn't put away his racquet for long—according to EFE, Nadal withdrew from the golf tournament's final day to begin his hard-court preparations. He's scheduled to play Toronto, Cincinnati and the US Open.

Nadal is No.3 in the rankings.
