The past week was a slowdown from the excitement of the US Open. Only a few WTA events were held while no ATP events were played. On top of that, no woman player in the Top 25 made ranking moves as many of them are taking time to recover from New York. However, that doesn't mean that some didn't make strides in their march towards the top:

The main mover in the WTA rankings this week is Rybakina. The 20-year-old leapt over 20 places after making it to the final of the Jiangzi Open last weekend. Despite losing in straight sets to Rebecca Peterson in the final, the Russian took the secondary prize of a career-high ranking inside the Top 50.
