Reilly Opelka is making the most of his time away from the tennis court, sharing a trip to Paris Fashion Week on Instagram after undergoing hip surgery last month.

The former world No. 17, who also spent some time behind the Tennis Channel desk this summer, was last on court at the Citi Open in August before pulling out of the US Open, and has since opted to spend his recovery on more artistic pursuits like Rick Owens’ fashion show and meeting Machine Gun Kelly.

Opelka caught Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout tour when it hit the Zénith Paris arena last week, the 6’11” American hilariously managing to dwarf the 6’4” musician in a picture taken backstage.

The stylish weekend continued for Opelka as he got prime viewing for Owens’ EDFU SS23 show at the Palais de Tokyo.

Noted for his love of all things artsy, the 25-year-old bourgeoning bon vivant has looked to bring some much-needed culture into the ATP locker room.

“The young guys, there are not too many into art,” Opelka told friend Matthew Chevallard in ‘The Art of Collecting'. “So, I’ve been dragging some of my boys to galleries around the world.”

No word on whether any souvenirs collected over the weekend will replace his infamous Tim Van Laere Gallery tote bag at his next match.
