You can’t always get what you want: Iga Swiatek has officially set her playlist to private at the 2024 Australian Open.

The top seed opted out of sharing her pre-match pump up song after surviving a three-set thriller against Danielle Collins on Thursday for fear of on-court DJs playing it to death.

“I don't want to say,” Swiatek said after rallying from a double-break deficit in the decider to defeat the 2022 finalist in just over three hours on Rod Laver Arena. “'Cause I already said it couple of times and it became like the anthem of the tournament or whatever. It ruined it a little bit for me. I don't want to say.

“I had on my first Roland Garros that I won "Welcome to the Jungle." I couldn't even hear it ever again because of all this fuss that this song made.”

Which Rolling Stones song do you think Swiatek was listening to?

Known for her sharp music takes, Swiatek didn’t leave us completely empty handed: the world No. 1 gave enough of a peek beneath her headphones for fans to get a vibe for what got her through one of the tougher sections of the women’s draw.

“I was listening to The Rolling Stones. I feel like when I'm really well-focused I am kind of repeating the same song throughout the whole match.

“It gives me energy and I can kind of narrow my focus just to that song that I keep hearing and the technical stuff that I want to think about. I don't like when my brain is kind of picking up the songs from the changeovers because every time is a different one. I want to keep hearing The Rolling Stones.”

Swiatek surely got plenty of satisfaction from her comeback against Collins, but with five more red doors to paint black Down Under, can Swiatek walk the Moonlight Mile all the way to a first Australian Open title?
