Tennis. Twerking. Karaoke. Broadway. As performances go, Serena Williams has done it all.

Well, almost. Not quite.

Danielle Brooks, currently portraying Sofia in The Color Purple cast—also known to legions of fans as Tastee on Orange Is the New Black—had her pal Serena backstage in New York late last week.

The pair recited some of the show's iconic quotes and generally yukked it up. Despite the seriousness of Purple's subject matter itself, these ladies knew how to have fun:

On the heels of Jennifer Hudson and Heather Headley's exits from The Color Purple, Brooks leaves the show in mid-November, presumably to take on more TV and film work. But not before hugging some famous peers, including Serena, Angela Bassett and Kim Whitley.

"She's taking over for me when I leave!" Brooks exclaimed about Serena in their video moment. The heralded Great White Way will miss Brooks' verve and personality, but the US Open in Flushing will always warmly welcome her back.
