Tennis Channel Live: King Richard Oscar Noms And Del Potro

If fans have watched King Richard, then they know Serena Williams and her sister Venus always have a plan thanks to their father. Although the 23-time major champion's career is not over quite yet, she's been preparing for when that day comes. In her recent interview with Entertainment Tonight she opened up about her eventual retirement and balancing family.

"I am prepared for that day, I've been prepared for that day for over a decade," Williams told Entertainment Tonight. "So, I've always -- if you've seen King Richard you know that my dad always said you got to prepare, so I've been prepared for that. You know, at the end of the day, I think it's really important to always have a plan and that's kind of what I did. I always had a plan."

Since having her daughter Olympia four years ago it's been an overwhelming balancing act between being a professional athlete and being mom. The former world No. 1 also wants more kids with her husband Alexis Ohanian and feels the ticking getting louder and louder in her head with each passing day.

"I definitely want to have more kids, it's just like, balance is key, you know, and just trying to find that balance.

"I don't know, it's always like, OK, are we ready? And I know the clock is ticking so I'm just like OK, I need to figure out when that's going to be, but hopefully soon when I will feel no pressure," she said.

With extending her family weighing on her mind, a record-tying 24th Grand Slam title is as well. Last year her coach Patrick Mouratoglou said he didn't believe retirement was on the horizon just yet.

"I don't think she will stop until she at least wins a Grand Slam, because she came back to win Grand Slams," Mouratoglou told PEOPLE, speaking on her return after giving birth to daughter Olympia in 2017. "She doesn't quit."

Williams missed this year's Australian Open, but is working hard each day to make her return to the WTA Tour. In her most recent Instagram post, the 40-year-old partnered with Tonal, an at-home gym brand and is looking stronger than ever. Serena did an entire workout series in the short video clip, which included bicep curls, squats, arm raises and more.

"Never be afraid of your own strength," Serena wrote as her caption. Owning her strength, it appears she's got more work to do before calling it quits.
