Sharapova promotes her newly designed Nike Cortex shoe

On the heels of her erstwhile, best-selling ballet flat for Coach, Maria Sharapova again finds herself in the shoe business.

Choice Nike x Nordstrom stores in the Los Angeles area, both brands' websites and the five-time major winner's own social media feeds are well stocked with her take on the ballyhooed Cortez treads.

Sharapova designed the look of them in collaboration with a team of specialists, and they certainly bear her brand of approval.

Nike hails the "laidback vibes and earthy hues" of these kicks, which feature a color called "beige sail." Thoughtful splashes of sedated gold and leather details provide Sharapova's personal stamp on the shoes.

Watch for Sharapova, currently No. 41 in the WTA rankings, to appear in action next in Indian Wells.
