Part of the festivities included food cooked in in handmade donabe pots:

Though she hung up her racquet over a year ago, Sharapova hasn't slowed down. The serial entrepreneur has been busy expanding her empire. In February, she joined Naked Retail as an advisor. Last August, she signed a long-term partnership deal with Therabody, a global tech wellness company.

"As an athlete," Sharapova said, "I've had a close eye on emerging businesses in the health and wellness space, so it wasn't so much a singular moment as waiting for the right company. What excites me most about joining the Therabody team is the opportunity, not just from an investment standpoint, but to really roll up my sleeves and help inform the company's growth strategy and the path forward."

The five-time Grand Slam champion's other business ventures include her own candy company, Sugarpova, and investments in the app Charly, Sugargoop and Ultimate Fighting Championship.
