After a solid run at the US Open, falling to a tough Elina Svitolina in the Round of 16, Simona Halep quickly headed back home to Romania. Upon her return, she confirmed during a Romanian broadcast of her plans to marry boyfriend, billionaire businessman Toni Iuruc.

Wednesday, September 15 was the special day.

Dressed in a gleaming golden dress that flowed effortlessly to the floor, she was spotted with friends and family following the marriage signing. The civil ceremony was kept very intimate and private, but Halep has already taken to her Instagram stories to post a couple of photos of her glamorous look.

Longtime coach Darren Cahill wasn't in attendance, but did share a few heartfelt words over Twitter in celebration of her special day.

"It's an extremely important step. I'm happy it's happening," Halep told press in Romania.

The ceremony was held in the town of Constanta following the marriage signing. About 300 friends and family members came together to celebrate at the Fratelli Club, owned by Halep's godfather Dani Caramihai.
