This year, Roland Garros has been unlike any other. Moved to late September, players have dealt with the cold and rain, and now they experienced something they never expected: a jet's sonic boom.

During Stan Wawrinka's second round-match against German Dominik Koepfer, the pair was one game in when what was originally thought to be an explosion came through the stadium. Both men looked up in confusion for a few long moments.

"I was shocked like everybody," Wawrinka said. "For sure, we ask the umpire to let me know what was it. Everybody had the answer quite early, so was all good."

Thankfully, it was quickly determined that the "explosion" was a jet flying faster than the speed of sound (750 miles per hour).

Wawrinka would dismiss Koepfer, 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 and will take on Hugo Gaston in the third round on Friday, expecting less disruptions.
