A day after battling past No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3, Alexander Zverev snapped a five-match losing streak against No. 2 Daniil Medvedev with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the final to capture his second ATP Finals crown.

And with that, the No. 3-ranked German moved into the lead on two big lists: he’s now won more tour-level matches AND titles than any other man OR woman this year.

MOST TOUR-LEVEL MATCHES WON (men, 2021)
59: Alexander Zverev

58: Daniil Medvedev
55: Stefanos Tsitsipas
55: Casper Ruud

(Anett Kontaveit and Ons Jabeur led the women’s tour with 48 each)

MOST TOUR-LEVEL TITLES WON (men, 2021)
6: Alexander Zverev

5: Novak Djokovic
5: Casper Ruud
4: Daniil Medvedev
4: Jannik Sinner

(Ashleigh Barty led the women’s tour with 5)

Zverev is guaranteed to finish the year with the most tour-level titles as there are no more tour-level titles up for grabs on either tour this year, but most tour-level wins hasn’t been locked in yet as the Davis Cup Finals are still coming up.
