On Thursday, Frances Tiafoe pulled off the upset of the tournament in Vienna, taking out No. 3-ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round of the ATP 500 event for the biggest win of his career, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

On Friday, he kept the career breakthroughs coming—the American moved through to the biggest semifinal of his career with a 6-4, 7-6 (6) victory over Diego Schwartzman. He had lost to Schwartzman in both of their previous meetings, at Barcelona and Cincinnati earlier this year.

This is Tiafoe’s fourth career ATP semifinal, but first above the ATP 250 level.

He’ll play Jannik Sinner in the semifinals—Sinner has won both of their previous meetings, at Antwerp and the Next Gen ATP Finals in 2019.
