With a 6-4, 6-3 win over Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals of the Rolex Paris Masters on Friday, Novak Djokovic reached the 71st Masters 1000 semifinal of his career.

He already had the second-most career Masters 1000 semifinals since this level of tournament began in 1990, but he’s catching up on the all-time leader.

MOST CAREER MASTERS 1000 SEMIFINALS (since 1990)
75: Rafael Nadal
71: Novak Djokovic (including 2021 Paris)
66: Roger Federer
33: Andy Murray
32: Andre Agassi
31: Pete Sampras
20: Andy Roddick

Djokovic already holds the record for most career Masters 1000 finals with 53 of them, so reaching a 54th here would only continue to build on that lead (Nadal and Federer have the next-most with 52 and 50, respectively).

However, if Djokovic were to go all the way to his 37th career Masters 1000 title in Paris, he would set a new record for most career Masters 1000 titles—he’s currently tied with Nadal with 36 (Federer’s next on the list with 28).

Additionally, with his victory over Fritz in the French capital, Djokovic is now 22-0 against Americans over the last five years. His last loss to an American came against Sam Querrey in the third round of Wimbledon in 2016.
