Ever wonder how star tennis players would fare in other sports? Or how top-tier team-sport athletes would do on the tennis court?

Those questions were answered in Episode 3 of the Quibi streaming series Iron Sharpens Iron, where Sloane Stephens gave Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner a tennis lesson—and then got to work on her baseball swing with Turner.

After starting with some strength exercises, the pair got going by hitting forehands at the fence.

"I like seeing you completely unweight your back side," Turner said while watching Stephens, "because we talk about that in baseball all the time."

His first forehand, meanwhile, didn't turn out nearly as well:

"You went under [the ball]," Stephens explained after seeing him hit a dinger forehand out of the court, "so you have to swing through."

In the second half of the show, Stephens tried her hand at some batting practice for the very first time.

"Just like your tennis drill ... it's the same thing in hitting," Turner said. "I wind up and get my leg kick, and then as the ball's coming, I'm gonna try to transfer all my weight into my front leg."

At first, Stephens was unable to make contact with even a softly tossed pitch. But by the end, she was cracking base hits like an experienced player.

The current break in the WTA season could offer the 2017 US Open champion a much-needed chance to regroup, as she's won just one match so far in 2020.
