New York Junior Tennis & Learning capped a golden jubilee on Wednesday with the celebration of its 50th anniversary gala.

In addition to celebrating half a century promoting the combination of sport and education, the gala "raised crucial funds to develop the character of young people through tennis and education for a lifetime of success on and off the court."

Emceed by Mary Carillo, the event featured a special performance from OneUpDuo and paid special honor to former American star James Blake and Tory Kiam, a leading direct seller of fashion jewelry.

The gala ultimately raised a whopping $1.4 million dollars in funds that will, according to a press release, "help scale and accelerate [NYJTL's] impact."

Tennis Channel’s on-air talent have been helping to kick off the celebration by sending their congratulations to the NYJTL on their official YouTube channel.
