'The Bachelor' Joey Graziadei loves the Alcaraz-Djokovic rivalry, says 'everyone should be afraid' of Sinner

Joey Grazadei, currently in the midst of his star turn as he looks for love on this season of "The Bachelor," is the most famous tennis teaching pro in America. Now, he's weighing in on the state of the ATP Tour, saying that the rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic is one of the most electric in sport.

"I love [Novak] Djokovic. I love [Carlos] Alcaraz," Graziadei said in a clip posted by the US Open's official Instagram account this week, filmed at last summer's tournament.

"I really think that really right now in tennis, that's the biggest thing that I'm paying attention to, is that rivalry and that battle that's starting. I think there's just a lot of talent out there still coming up with a lot of the younger guys as well."

Graziadei went on to call Sinner "a sleeper"—a U.S. colloquialism that comes from the term "sleeper pick" or "sleeper hit," for athletes and things are under-appreciated and catch the audience by surprise.

"I think that's the one that everyone should be afraid of," he added of the Italian.

(For that comment, Graziadei was gently roasted, with fans saying that Sinner is "everything and anything" but a sleeper. The 28-year-old was done in, somewhat, by the timing of his interview being posted: He made sure to let fans know that his comments were filmed six months ago in New York, well before Sinner captured his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.)

Graziadei played college tennis at Division II West Chester University in Pennsylvania, and was working in Hawaii teaching tennis at The Club at Kukuiʻula when he was cast on season 20 of "The Bachelorette," on which he eventually finished runner-up.

The sport has played a starring role in his season already, with Pam Shriver and James Blake guest-starring in an episode that saw Grazadei's prospective love matches compete to impress him in a doubles tournament.
