Incredible tennis unfolded at the All England Club this year, but there were a few very notable misfires on court and off of it. Here's a look at the Top 5 most memorable fails:

Fabio Fognini causing a scene is nothing new, but this time, he really took things far. Just a day before the anniversary of the 2005 London bombing, Fognini was heard saying he hoped “a bomb would explode at the club" in Italian. He lost the third-round encounter to Tennys Sandgren and was fined $3,000.

2

Serena Williams

Serena Williams got a bigger fine than Fognini for damaging a court during practice before the Grand Slam started. Hitting with her sister Venus on an outside court, Serena broke her racquet and walked off the court. She was handed a $10,000 fine.

3

Jelena Ostapenko

Somehow, Jelena Ostapenko became the most lethal server at Wimbledon this year. No one was safe—not even her own partner. The Latvian hit her women's doubles opponent at the net, Alize Cornet, with a serve, winning the point but losing the match. Then in mixed doubles, she nailed her partner Robert Lindstedt cleanly in the head during two separate matches.

4

Bernard Tomic

Bernard Tomic lost his opening round to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. The Australian was fined for not meeting "required professional standard" during the 58-minute match—the shortest men's match at Wimbledon since 2004. His entire prize money of $56,100 was taken away and he plans to contest it.

5

Hsieh Su-Wei

Partnering with her brother Hsieh Cheng-peng, Hsieh Su-Wei accidentally hit him in the middle of a rally. The two still delighted fans with their craftsmanship, and while they won their opening round, they lost in the second round to Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan.
